UAE shooting: best places

Just in case you are looking for cool shooting places, we’ve gathered the best ones.

Bastakiya to Al Ghubaiba Bus Station, Dubai

Untitled by Simran Puri

The great thing about the place is that there are always opportunities to get a great street photo every visit. Is you walk through Bur Dubai and the Creek Side with your camera, you’ll never be disappointed with the shots!

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Abu Dhabi

Well, it’s a must. Seriously.

The architecture is so stunning – every picture is to be great! Check out the 24 carat gold gilded chandeliers – so very UAE :)

Did you know the mosque holds an annual photography competition? Try yourself!

Available for shooting daily except Fridays morning – that’s the time for worshippers only.

The Dhow Building Yard, Dubai

The Dhow Building Yard is an extensive marina. Amazing place to travel back in time and see boat builders working. With all the traditional tools hand-building the dhows that sail the creek. Interesting that Dhow Building Yard is the biggest dhow building center worldwide! Boat builders are always at work since about 20-30 boats are being built at the same time.

Fish, Fruit & Vegetable Markets, Deira

We highly recommend visit these markets.

Shoot the vivid colours of the so called green market, macro-shooting, capture day of the traders life, and make several stunning portraits. Usually people there are nice and ok with being photographed.

On Ice by Melissa Beattie

It is opened every day. Better get there as much early to take pictures of the hustle and bustle.

Heritage Village, Abu Dhabi

The Heritage Village gives an variety of backdrops in a pretty small location.

Start with the farm and go to the recreated traditional houses and Bedouin camps. They are completed with cultural crafts people. Go across the bridge over the duck pond straight to the beach with a beautiful cityscape background.

Better come early to avoid the large number of people.

Ghost Town, RAK

Untitled by Musthafa Aboobacker

This is truly a real gem. Try yourself in some landscape photos. Amazing textures and also great shots by placing a model among the ruins. Sunrises and sunsets a extremely eye-catching!

Al Dhafrah Festival, Abu Dhabi

Only one time a year – the last week of December! But absolutely worth participating!

The Festival has an opportunity of unique scenes. Everything is great here: the set up of the festival, the not very famous but pretty rare ‘camel beauty contest’.

A must-see event for all the UAE photographers!

Garhoud Bridge, Dubai

Garhood Bridge

When the sun goes down the bridge really becomes all with vivid lights of neon blue. The lights reflect on the Creek – and create a special mood. If practicing night photography – that’s the perfect one.

Global Village

Untitled by Melissa Beattie

The real time fair, with bunch of fireworks and holiday market with unique craftware. Each country has its place – and each presents different mood. Better vosot in the late afternoon to capture the best of the golden hour.

After that return to the fair at dusk for dynamic shots – tripod might be needed. Open till March.
